Our keto and sugar free thick and tangy bbq sauce recipe was generated on a hot summer day. I spent most of the day outside soaking up some vitamin D while my stomach was working up an appetite. A hamburger sounded so good. No problem. We had plenty of hamburger meat in the freezer. But, I wanted a BBQ hamburger with bacon and cheddar cheese. Plenty of cheese and bacon around the house but no barbecue sauce and where I live there isn’t a grocery store that sells sugar free barbecue sauce.
Lucky for me, my husband is the creator of some of the best original sauces I’ve ever had so coming up with a barbecue sauce, keto approved, on the spot wasn’t a challenge. Within twenty minutes I was devouring a thick, greasy barbecue hamburger.
These five ingredients are easy to find and if you own a spoon and a bowl you can make a barbecue sauce as good as Gabe.

Keto and sugar free thick & tangy barbecue sauce
Ingredients
- 6 tbsp sugar free ketchup I use Heinz brand
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 0.5 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp liquid smoke
- 1 drop liquid sweetener of your choice
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl, place all ingredients and stir thoroughly. Store unused sauce in the refrigerator.
